Mark ThomasThe General
The man behind Vault Beer. Mark was a home brewer for many years before meeting the Cain brothers as the idea for Vault Brewing was just forming. Tasked with all things beer related, Mark designed and implemented the processes, equipment setup and beer portfolio at both the brewpub and new production facility. Mark’s brewing vision at Vault is to never filter, use whole flower hops, and to achieve balance, above all else. Truth in beer.
Richard BolsterBrewer, Facilities Manager
Richard has been seriously drinking and thinking about beer since about 1993. He started brewing around
1997. And he’s been with Vault since 2012, when he left the worst job in the world for one of the best. Richard has a love of history and enjoys exploring that to deepen his knowledge about all things beer. Besides brewing at Vault, Richard is in charge of server education and leads the public tours every Saturday.
In addition, Richard has written about beer for Saveur Magazine, Philly Beer Scene, Brew Your Own and Mid-Atlantic Brewing News. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, Linda, and future beer drinkers Magdalena and Leo.
A West Philadelphian with a passion for all things beer. When not dutifully working in the brewery, Kyler can be found straddling one of his vintage Italian bicycles or cracking open a cold one with comrades. While he lusts after the gentle hop-kiss of a pilsner, he can never deny the allure of a full bodied stout. He believes in pairing chèvre with kriek lambic as well as crosswords with Steely Dan.
